Two people were arrested for drunken-driving this weekend during a sobriety checkpoint in Jeannette, according to police Chief Shannon Binda.
The Laurel Highlands DUI Task Force set up on Harrison Avenue on Friday night through early Saturday. One of the drunken-driving suspects was under the influence of a controlled substance, he said.
Officers made three drug arrests and wrote 23 citations. Identities of those who had been arrested were not released Monday morning.
Police from several departments participate in the task force, including Jeannette, Latrobe, Scottdale, Mt. Pleasant and Ligonier township and borough.
