Police were searching for the driver of a Jeep that crashed on Claridge Elliott Road in Penn Township on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019.

There was a heavy police presence in the Claridge section of Penn Township Wednesday afternoon as police searched for a suspect who apparently was involved with a chase.

Several roads were blocked off in the area of Claridge Elliott and Blocks roads. Police appeared to have the suspect in custody around 2:50 p.m. near the post office and Denmark and Blocks roads.

Elsewhere on Claridge Elliott Road, a Jeep appeared to have crashed into a telephone pole and stopped off of the road. The pole was hanging from utility wires.

State troopers and officers from Greensburg, Penn Township and Jeannette were investigating.
