Hempfield Township is looking for a new recreation director.

Jason Winters, who previously held the position, was promoted to township manager last month.

The recreation director supervises a staff of five and oversees Hempfield Township Athletic Complex, Hempfield Park, Swede Hill Park and Brooklane Neighborhood Playground, and the programs held there.

The township is in the midst of a $5 million recreation improvement project , funded through grants and donations.

Winters earned a salary of $67,000 a year before his promotion, although part of that was because of his extra duties as assistant township manager.

Applications are being accepted through the township's website, www.hempfieldtwp.com, which also features a full job description.
