A man who ran from police following a traffic stop in Trafford Saturday is accused of ditching cocaine and heroin during the chase, according to court documents.
Vincent Juanno Strader, 41, of Homewood, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on Brinton Avenue by borough police. When officers asked Strader and the driver to exit the vehicle, Strader took off on foot, but was arrested at gunpoint about 100 yards away, police said.
Along Strader’s path police found several bags of suspected drugs including crack cocaine, rock cocaine, powder cocaine and three bundles of heroin stamped “shufflin,” according to court documents. The cocaine totalled approximately 20 grams and the stamp bags weighed about 25 grams, police said. Strader was in possession of $1,402 in cash and a small bag of marijuana.
He is facing seven counts each of possession with intent to deliver and drug possession and single counts of flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and marijuana possession. Strader is free on $50,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday before District Judge Helen Kistler.
