Indiana County man arrested for alleged rape in Greensburg
An Indiana County man wanted for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in August was located Wednesday in Derry Township by Westmoreland County sheriff's deputies.
Richard Skylar Pfeil, 20, of Indiana was arraigned Wednesday on charges of rape, statutory sexual assault and indecent assault with a minor.
Greensburg police obtained an arrest warrant last week.
City Detective Sgt. John Swank Jr. wrote in an affidavit of probable cause filed before Senior District Judge James Falcon that Pfeil met the teenager in August at an apartment on the 300 block of Walnut Street, where he raped her.
Sheriff Jon Held said deputies looked for Pfeil in Greensburg, Delmont and New Alexandria before locating him at the Holiday Acres apartment complex in Derry Township. Held said Pfeil surrendered without incident.
Pfeil was jailed in the county prison on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Dec. 1.
