Firefighters extinguished a grease fire in about eight minutes Wednesday afternoon at a North Huntingdon Italian restaurant, authorities said. The blaze was contained to the kitchen range at Pasqualino's Italian Eatery along Route 30, according to Mike Butler, assistant chief at Strawpump Fire Department.
“There were only four employees inside, no customers, and they all evacuated by the time we arrived,” Butler said.
Firefighters were called at 1:48 p.m. to the restaurant, which had been open for lunch, located inside a small strip mall, he said. Other businesses in the building — Great Clips and Accuserve Pharmacy — were evacuated, but employees were permitted to go back inside shortly afterward. Firefighters were still ventilating the restaurant, Butler said.
No one was injured and there was no structural damage to the building.
