Real estate taxes should hold steady at 5 mills in Ligonier Township for 2015.

Supervisors voted 2-1 Tuesday to advertise a proposed budget that estimates expenditures at $1,824,280 and revenue at $1,805,624.

Supervisor Scott Matson cast a dissenting vote, stating that he would rather have more solid numbers to work with.

Engineering costs related to bridge repairs were not yet factored into the draft.

Township manager Terry Carcella said the year-end cash balance is expected to be between $500,000 and $600,000, a projection that should hold true for the end of 2015.

The board will consider adopting the budget Dec. 16.

Each mill generates between $90,000 and $100,000 for the township, supervisor Tim Komar said.

“There’s no tax increase anticipated — that’s the best part,” Komar said of the proposed budget.

The spending plan will be on display at the municipal building until Dec. 16.

The board’s regular meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 9.
