Two men — one claiming to have bad skin — stole more than a thousand dollars in skin and dental care items from a Unity pharmacy Saturday.

The incident began shortly before 9 p.m. when a white man in his mid-20s asked a female clerk at CVS Pharmacy on Theatre Street to show him to a restroom, state police said. A second white man about the same age requested help with selecting a facial treatment “because he was breaking out,” police said. While the clerk was in the skin care aisle, the first suspect exited the restroom and began removing items from store shelves and concealing them under his jacket, police said. An alarm was tripped when the suspect left the store. When the clerk went to attend to the alarm, the second man allegedly began taking additional products, police said.

Both men fled in a white sedan.

Items taken include day and nighttime skins creams, teeth-whitening strips and rechargeable toothbrushes. The first suspect has short, light brown hair, a goatee and was wearing a black jacket, police said. The second suspect is described as having short, dark hair and was wearing a black Cincinnati Reds baseball cap, a brown jacket and tan work boots.
