The Cameos of Caring Awards, sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, honor exceptional nurses who work at acute care hospitals throughout the 11-county region and are selected by peers. A gala recognizing the awardees was held in Pittsburgh. The program was established in 1999 to promote the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing's commitment to advancing the nursing profession. Nurses from a variety of health care facilities and areas of practice have been honored.
