Lydia Grant, 6, of Penn Township, rides a swing during the Penn Township Fall Festival Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at the Penn Township Municipal Park in Harrison City.

Penn Township will welcome autumn with fireworks and a parade as the annual fall festival returns.

The festival will begin 6 p.m. Friday at the Penn Township Municipal Park in Harrison City, which will be packed with vendors and carnival rides.

Bands and other acts will perform at the park throughout the three-day event.

The parade starts 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Community United Methodist Church and will finish about an hour later at Penn-Trafford High School. A portion of Route 130 will be closed during the parade.

Nancy Wallace, an air force veteran who served during the Vietnam War and retired nurse at Penn-Trafford High School, will serve as grand marshal.

Wallace has been involved in planning the festival and the parade since it started 12 years ago.

The park will host a car cruise and pie contest Saturday afternoon, with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Community United Methodist Church will host a “welcome to all” church service as part of the festival at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Festival parking is available at St. Barbara Church and Penn-Trafford High School, with a free shuttle to the park, or at the festival site for $5.

A full schedule of events is available on the festival website .
