PennDOT District 12, which includes Westmoreland, Fayette, Washington and Greene counties, plans to use around 80,000 tons of salt to keep road clear this winter and is looking for another 48 CDL drivers for the season.

Last winter, the district spent $24.4 million to keep 8,235 snow lane miles clear.

Winter snow plow training was held Wednesday at the PennDOT Latrobe Stockpile in Unity Township.
