A Rostraver man is accused of being drunk at the time of a crash this month that left a 12-year-old girl with two broken ribs, according to court papers.

Anzalone Jones, 62, crashed into another vehicle at 10 p.m. Nov. 12 at the intersection of Rostraver Road and Vance DeiCas Highway. Police said in court papers filed this week that Jones had a “strong odor” of alcohol and had glassy eyes and poor balance. He was unable to perform field sobriety tests and refused to submit to have blood drawn.

Jones told investigators he believed he was on Route 51, which is four miles from the crash scene.

The child was a passenger in the other vehicle, police said.

Jones is charged with aggravated assault while driving under the influence, driving under the influence and a traffic violation. He is free on $5,000 unsecured bond. A Dec. 14 preliminary hearing is set. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A phone number for him could not be located.
