A Cambria County woman was arrested Friday on state police accusations that she allegedly took $10,844 from a Westmoreland County McDonald’s restaurant where she worked, according to court papers.

Cheryl Anne Dahmen, 33, is charged with two counts of theft.

Troopers said the Donegal Township restaurant owner reported Jan. 24 that the three days worth of deposits had not been taken to a bank. Dahmen told investigators she forgot to take the deposits to the bank and either lost the money or it was stolen, according to an affidavit. Police said the suspect reported she planned to try to cover up the missing money by altering deposit slips and replace it later.

She is free on $10,000 unsecured bond. A March 1 preliminary hearing is set.

Dahmen did not have an attorney listed in court records. She did not immediately return a message.
