Searchers in a raft seach Brush Creek in North Huntingdon Township after a man reported Saturday he thought he had seen a body in the water.

North Huntingdon police were spearheading a search in Brush Creek on Saturday after a report that a body was spotted in the water, according to Westmoreland 911 dispatch reports.

A dispatcher reported the call was received at 1:27 p.m.

Multiple river rescue crews from the region were searching the creek along Route 993 in the vicinity of Haywood Road.

A first responder at the scene, who declined to be identified, said the person who reported seeing the body was metal detecting.

Officials at a command post along Route 993 said no information was available shortly before 4 p.m.
