Investigators went up another level and on Tuesday arrested a Turtle Creek man who they believe supplied the fentanyl-laced heroin that killed two people in Greensburg and Murrysville last year.

Demetrius Christmas, 29, is being held without bond in the Westmoreland County Prison.

Authorities said in court papers that Christmas supplied the drugs to Jeremy S. Mason, 33, of Manor, who is accused of distributing them to Paul Lucas, 21, and Jeffrey Gettemy, 30.

Mason was arrested in September and remains in custody on $1 million bond.

Christmas' attorney, Owen Seaman, had not seen the complaints early Wednesday and declined to comment.

In the first case, Murrysville police investigating Lucas' April 13, 2017, death at a Breyer Ridge Court home learned that Mason contacted his supplier, whom he identified as “JC,” according to an affidavit.

Later identified by police as Christmas, “JC” gave Mason 11 stamp bags marked “COBRA” in exchange for $70 from Lucas, police said. Mason then gave six stamp bags to Lucas, police said.

In the second case, Greensburg police found Gettemy dead June 1 at a Lemington Avenue home. Gettemy's family directed investigators to Mason, who again identified “JC” as the man who supplied him with eight fentanyl-laced heroin stamp bags marked “Sorry 4 Da Wait” in exchange for $50 on May 30 or 31, according to an affidavit. Police found an empty bag with that stamp near Gettemy's body.

Mason and other witnesses identified Christmas as “JC” in a photo lineup, according to police in both cases.

Christmas is charged with two counts of drug delivery resulting in death and other charges of drug possession and conspiracy.

His preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday.

No court action has been set in the county Court of Common Pleas in Mason's case.
