Two Dollar General stores are slated to open in the next few months, one in Hempfield and the other in Salem.
Construction is underway for the two new stores, said Ashley Weinman, senior real estate manager for PennTex, the Greensburg developer behind the project.
One in Crabtree along Route 119 is slated for opening in late October or early November, she said. That store will replace space previously occupied by Crabby's BBQ.
A second store in Hempfield on Route 136, near from a closed Shop ‘n Save grocery store, could be completed in December, Weinman said. The Dollar General will be located on a piece of land across from Tammy Drive that previously was a wooded area.
Both stores will look similar to one that opened in South Greensburg this summer. Each location will employ 10 to 12 full- and part-time workers, and PennTex will lease the space to Dollar General Corp., she said.
