Video: Germ-zapping robot disinfects Donegal home with persistent ‘superbug’

Robin Niderstros's 85-year-old mother, Darleen, came home from a hospital stay with a persistent and troublesome “superbug” called clostridium difficile, also known as C.diff. Her mom recovered and Niderstros scrubbed her Donegal home, but lingering C.diff spores caused her to get sick twice more, so San Antonio-based Xenex offered to disinfect the house with “Brutus,” a robot that blasts a room with pulses of ultraviolet light to destroy bacterial and viral DNA.
