Youngwood will hold property tax line
Youngwood council will meet 7 p.m. Dec. 19 to set next year's property tax rate, which will remain the same as this year.
Council this week approved a $958,660 operating budget for next year but is required to hold a separate vote to set the property tax rate at 17 mills, said borough manager Diane Schaefer. Earned income taxes and the local services tax also will remain the same.
Council will set aside 1 mill, representing about $27,600, for a special fund for fire equipment, and 3 mills to go toward paying bond debt for the borough building.
