A Penn-Trafford High School senior organized a day of free admission to Bushy Run Battlefield, and still managed to raise more than $1,000 for the historic site.

Emily Liska, 18, of Harrison City, has been volunteering at Bushy Run for the past six years, logging more than 1,000 volunteer hours.

Liska organized the free-admisison day on March 11 as part of her senior project for school.

Several basket raffles throughout the day helped raise about $1,100 for the Bushy Run organization, Liska said.
