Plum council to vote on final budget Dec. 17
Plum council has pushed its regular voting meeting back a week to allow its proposed 2019 budget to be advertised for 30 days.
The meeting originally was scheduled for today at 7 p.m.
Council plans to adopt next year’s $18 million budget on Monday, Dec. 17. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. in council chambers. It was advertised during a Nov. 14 meeting.
The borough’s property tax rate will remain at 4.78 mills. Taxes were last raised in 2016 by one mill to fund road paving projects and bolster emergency medical services.
The proposed spending plan does not pull from the borough’s estimated $5 million surplus in order to balance the budget.
