Plum’s Movies in the Park series continues this weekend
Plum’s Family Movie Series continues this weekend with a Christmas in July theme.
The holiday comedy “Elf” staring Will Ferrell will be shown Saturday at dusk in Larry Mills Park along Fontana Drive.
It tells the story of a boy who crawls into Santa Claus’ sack at an orphanage and is transported back to the North Pole.
When discovered at the workshop, the elves name him “Buddy” and is adopted by Papa Elf.
Buddy is raised as an elf, but due to his human size he is unable to keep up with the workers.
He learns of his human existence, goes to find his family in New York City and has some trouble adjusting to the customs of the cynical human world.
The park’s movie series is presented by the borough and Plum Rotary.
Admission and popcorn is free. People will have an opportunity yo get their photo taken with Santa. Families are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. No alcohol is permitted.
The next movie is “Pirates of the Caribbean” shown Aug. 11.
