1 dead in motorcycle crash on Old William Penn Highway

A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday in an accident on Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville.

Zachary Wright, 21, of Stone Church Road, Hempfield, was killed after his 2008 Kawasaki collided with a 2006 Toyota Highlander, according to Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha.

Wright, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his bike and became pinned inder the SUV, the coroner said.

The road between School and Cline Hollow roads was closed for nearly three hours after the 2:30 p.m. accident.

No further information was available from Murrysville police. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
