11-year-old boy hit, killed by car in Indiana County
An Indiana County boy died Monday after stepping into the path of a vehicle on Hill Road in East Wheatfield Township. Adam Botteicher, 11, of Bear Track's Road, Seward, was pronounced dead at Conemaugh Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, said state police at Indiana. Police said Botteicher did not see an oncoming Chevy Cavalier driven by Brian Hill, 40, of Oakwood Road, New Florence, when he began to cross the road at 3 p.m. after retrieving a newspaper. An investigation is ongoing.
