Dorinda Ober of Mt. Pleasant says she is a true homebody.
Born in Ocean City, N.J., Ober, whose father was in the military, moved around until he retired when she was in grade school. The family settled in Mt. Pleasant, the town in which both of her parents were born and raised.
Married for 30 years, Dorinda and her husband, Steve, have one daughter and one large dog, Abby.
Ober loves crafts and can be found on many occasions decorating her home for the holidays. She also loves to sew. Ober has created gowns for weddings and made other handmade items for family and friends.
Ober also is a talented baker and worked for several years as a cake decorator, a skill that she still utilizes at home for special occasions.
Ober loves to spend time at the family's mountain getaway.
Ober loves a good romantic comedy. She watches "When Harry Met Sally" every time it airs.
Q: What was the last movie that you saw?
A: "Flirty with Forty." I really enjoyed it.
Q: Whom do you admire the most?
A: I would have to say my father. He's 81 years oldm and for as long as I can remember, he's always had health problems but he's always had a good attitude. He's always been a positive personm and he doesn't stop.
Q: What person, living or dead, would you most like to meet?
A: Steve's father. He died when Steve was 10 years old and I would have liked to have been able to meet him. Steve talks about him. I would like to see how much of him is in Steve.
Q: What is your favorite color?
A: Blue.
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: Sewing, decorating cakes and going to the camping trailer.
Q: What do you like the most about your job?
A: The opportunity to meet and talk to people and my co-workers. They are not just people that I work with, but friends. It's nice when you can work with friends and to have co-workers that you like.
Q: What is your tip for leading a successful life?
A: Always have a positive attitude and have faith in things.
Q: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A: Having friends and family to share the good times and the bad.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Chicken. Made just about any way.
Q: What talent would you most like to have?
A: I have always wanted to learn sign language and also to play the piano.
Q: What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
A: Raising my daughter.
Q: If there was one thing about your life that you could change, what would it be?
A: I wish that I would have had at least one more child. That's something that both Steve and I regret.
