Gene Humbert's goal in life is to make people laugh and be happy.
Born and raised in Markleysburg, Humbert attended Uniontown High School. Afterward, Humbert worked different labor and construction jobs for many years.
A heart ailment put an end to that line of work.
He then followed his love for music and became a disc jockey.
Humbert has been playing music and karaoke for the past eight years. He usually is busy every weekend.
Learning to play the guitar 40 years ago and "strumming" ever since, Humbert is taking his passion for singing one step further -- debuting on live stage in the Johnny Cash musical and playing the title role at Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale.
Humbert is close with his immediate family and said he loves to spend time with all of his grandchildren.
A big NASCAR fan, Humbert has traveled to see races. He even saw his favorite drivers -- legend Dale Earnhardt.
Humbert grew up with country music. He has met such country stars as Junior Samples, Jeannie C. Riley and Bobby Bare -- just to name a few.
He said Hank Williams is his favorite country music singer.
Humbert enjoys watching television, especially talent-seeking shows like "American Idol." He likes any movie -- as long as it's comedy.
Mountain living is perfect for the hunter. And it's also a perfect place to take his grandchildren quad riding.

A: "Spiderman." I saw it with my grandchildren. I thought it was good.

A: I admire my wife the most for putting up with me all these years.

A: I'd like to see my grandmother again.
