4 accused of shooting at house in Fayette County; no injuries

Three Fayette County men and a juvenile have been jailed for allegedly firing multiple shots at a house and car in Fairchance early Wednesday, endangering five people but not injuring anyone, state police said.

One woman and four males ranging in age from 16 to 59 were at the Oak Street residence when three of the suspects, Noah N. Newland, 19, Justin K. Porreca, 19, both of Uniontown, and Joshua Supensky, 16, of Masontown fired multiple gunshots about 3:20 a.m., police said.

Supensky is charged as an adult.

Police said Newland concocted the plan to shoot at the house because he had been in a fight over a girl with a 19-year-old who he believed was inside.

The three were arrested after police received information from the people in the house that Newland might have been involved because of his ongoing romantic dispute, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed before Masontown District Judge Daniel Shimshock.

When police went to Newland's home on Johnston Avenue, the suspect arrived in a 2002 Chevrolet Prizm, Trooper Joseph Ross said in the affidavit. Troopers confiscated one bullet casing from inside the car, he said.

Newland implicated Porreca and Supensky during an interview at the state police barracks but denied he fired any shots, according to the affidavit.

“Newland stated as he drove on South Oak Street past the victim's residence, he heard gunshots being fired and took off. Newland stated (that) while driving from the scene, his rear seat passengers, Joshua Supensky and Justin Porreca, began laughing and related ‘that was fun,' ” Ross wrote.

The three suspected shooters and a fourth man, Eric R. Supensky, 26, of Masontown, were charged with five counts each of attempt to commit homicide, aggravated assault, conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person and firing at an occupied structure.

All were arraigned before Brownsville District Judge Michael Defino Jr. and placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.
