Greensburg
New inmate search
feature announced
On behalf of the Westmoreland County Commissioners, Prison Warden John Walton announced a new inmate search feature is now available online through the Westmoreland County homepage at www.co.westmoreland.pa.us. The initiative is part of the county's continuing efforts to improve access to public information to residents through the Internet.
"We repeatedly receive calls from victims and family members wanting to know the whereabouts of inmates and the charges against them," Warden said. "Now, with the click of a mouse, those interested can visit the county's Web site to get that important information, as well as a photo of the inmate to ensure proper identification."
The Web site offers an alphabetical listing of all inmates housed at the facility, as well as the option to search by other criteria such as last name, booking number, housing unit or commitment date. By simply clicking on an inmate photo or name, a more detailed screen appears listing a description of charges, bond information and more.
The Web site is updated hourly (except from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.), seven days a week.
To access the on-line inmate search, visit at www.co.westmoreland.pa.us (keyword: prison) and click on "Inmate Search."
