A $5,000 reward is being offered for help in solving the Sept. 17 robbery of a Squirrel Hill Giant Eagle, city police said Thursday.

Two men entered the store on Murray Avenue at 7:15 a.m., and one suspect — who had a handgun — jumped the front counter of the office.

The other suspect, who was not armed, stood outside the office while the other man ordered the employee inside the office to get on the floor, city police said. That man then took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, and both men ran from the store.

Both robbers are described as black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with medium builds and wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the city police robbery squad at 412-323-7151.
