AAA will be collecting car and booster seats that are no longer safe.

The collection will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald's at 4557 Ohio River Blvd., Bellevue.

A child car seat or booster seat is no longer safe if it has protected a child in a car crash, is more than 6 years old, or is missing critical parts and pieces such as the harness or buckle that no longer can be replaced by the manufacturer.

The event is being conducted in conjunction with National Night Out in Bellevue.

More information is available from AAA's Safety Department at 412-365-7212. Parents can check for car seat recalls at www.nhtsa.gov .

McDonald's is rewarding parents with a certificate for each car seat contributed at the event.
