Actress claims casting bribery scam

Actors and actresses have to bribe New York casting agents to get bit parts in TV shows, movies and ads, a suit filed by a New Jersey woman claims.

Caroline Mazzone, 46, filed suit in Newark Federal Court accusing the Screen Actors Guild and New York casting firm, Grant Wilfley Casting, of bribery, racketeering and breach of contract, the New York Post reported Monday.

Mazzone told the Post she had to give Wilfley agents hundreds of dollars in gifts and cash for small roles in "Analyze That," "Maid in Manhattan," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Third Watch." Several times, she was told outright by a specific agent what she would have to do to get the part, she said.

Grant Wilfley said his agents cannot accept gifts worth more than $25 and called Mazzone's charges "unfounded allegations by a disgruntled actress."
