Air data worth airing II
I was disappointed to read that Pittsburgh ranked lowest for air quality in the American Lung Association's "State of the Air" report ( "Allegheny County airs disagreement with pollution rank," April 29 and TribLIVE.com).
However, even though this ranking is not something most Pittsburgh residents may agree with or like to hear, we all probably can concede that it is information we needed to be aware of, and for that I commend the American Lung Association for releasing the results.
Pittsburgh is one of the finest cities in the nation. Our businesses, schools, sports teams and cultural offerings are impressive and often second to none.
So if our air quality ranks as one of the lowest in the nation, then let's do what Pittsburgh is known for -- let's fight the good fight and take steps to build our way to be the best in the nation when it comes to the air we breathe.
