With four new Grammy Awards fresh on her shelf, Alicia Keys is looking forward to the start of her new North American tour. Kicking off Friday in Miami, Fla., the tour will be Keys' most extensive so far in support of her sophomore album, 2003's "The Diary of Alicia Keys." "When I did tour America, it was very brief. I only did about 16 cities," says Keys, who was on the road in the spring of 2004 as part of the Ladies First Tour with Beyonce and Missy Elliott. "We have a lot more cities to touch that I would love to touch with this album. We're purposely gonna do really small, intimate little theaters and really just make it an experience, something that is just unforgettable and just personal." Keys' four trophies won at this year's Grammy Awards are in addition to five she won at the 2001 ceremony, where she was named Best New Artist. Keys has dates booked into late April, including a three-show stand at Radio City Music Hall in New York, her hometown. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
