Aliquippa man found fatally shot on city street
An Aliquippa man who served in the Marines and was awarded a Purple Heart was fatally shot Wednesday.
Sjavante Gilliam, 28, was found on McMinn Street in Aliquippa and pronounced dead at 6:55 a.m., Beaver County Coroner David Gabauer said.
Gilliam died of a gunshot wound to his neck and head. Gabauer ruled the death a homicide.
According to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV, Gilliam was a father of two who served as a sniper in the Marines.
He was awarded a Purple Heart for his service, the TV station reported.
