Alle-Kiski Valley players to compete in PBC Summer Pro-Am
A pair of former Alle-Kiski high school stars and a sophomore from Penn State New Kensington will play in the Pittsburgh Basketball Club's Summer Pro-Am League, set to begin Monday.
Incoming Duquesne junior guard Micah Mason, a Highlands graduate, will play in the league for the first time. The 6-foot-2 Mason, who led the nation in 3-point shooting as a sophomore after transferring from Drake, will play for Team System One.
Plum graduate Nolan Cressler, who transferred from Cornell to Vanderbilt and must sit out a year per NCAA rules, will play in the league for the second time. The 6-4 guard once again is on Team South Hills Audi.
Cressler will be hard-pressed to top what he did last summer. He turned heads when he made the Pro-Am's All-League team, scoring 38 points in a game.
Penn State New Kensington 6-5 guard/forward Gian Karlo Molina, who played at Upper St. Clair and was born in Puerto Rico, is on Team PGT. He's battled knee problems, but hopes to rekindle his career.
The league will be held Monday and Wednesday nights through the week of July 21, with games at 7 and 8:45 p.m., at Montour High School.
