Allegheny Mineral Corp., a subsidiary of Snyder Associated Companies Inc., announced on Monday the purchase of the operating assets of Quality Aggregates Inc., a Pittsburgh-based aggregates producer.

With the addition of three key locations spread strategically throughout Western Pennsylvania, Allegheny Mineral has added long-term aggregate holdings with “significant limestone reserves,” the company said in a news release. The quarries employ nearly 85 people, it said.

Dennis Snyder of Allegheny Mineral said, “This is an excellent opportunity for Allegheny Mineral to continue to build the company and will strengthen our footprint in the Pennsylvania market. Furthermore, the addition to our quarry portfolio will allow Allegheny Mineral to provide our customers with an even larger selection and inventory of quality aggregate products. We are anxious to move forward with the employees at the Princeton, North Washington and Mascharka facilities and welcome them into the Allegheny Mineral family.”

Allegheny Mineral, headquartered in Kittanning, is a family owned and operated aggregate company that specializes in producing limestone construction aggregate, industrial rock dust and agricultural lime throughout Western Pennsylvania. It has existing crushing operations in Slippery Rock, Harrisville, Rose Point, Worthington and Murrinsville.
