Alpern, Rosenthal & Co. names shareholders, principal
Alpern, Rosenthal & Co. appointed Margaret J. Tanney and Stephen J. Ritmiller shareholders, and named David A. Charnock a principal of the accounting - business consulting firm. Tanney has more than 14 years' experience in public accounting and has been with the firm for a decade. Ritmiller has more than 13 years' experience, has been with the firm for eight and serves as co-director of its real estate services group. Charnock has more than 25 years' management experience, the last 13 with professional service firms. He is the firm's chief operating officer.
Burns, White & Hickton named Kimberly J. Overbaugh, Travis W. Smith and Deborah L. Wall as associate attorneys. Overbaugh works in the firm's labor-employment law, e-commerce and railroad defense litigation sections. Smith practices in the company's workers' compensation section. Wall joined the firm's railroad defense litigation section.
Mary Jo Dively joined Reed Smith's Pittsburgh office as a partner in the firm's technology and e-commerce group. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas and Vanderbilt University School of Law. Before joining Reed Smith, Dively was a shareholder in the corporate department at Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling, where she chaired the firm's technology law group.
Paul Paterra and Linda Schnur joined Nauticom as a WC3 page editor and an executive assistant, respectively. Paterra is a former sports and news writer for the McKeesport Daily News and a board operator and sportscaster for WIXZ in McKeesport. Schnur was the Butler project coordinator at Gentiva Health Services and former co-owner of Lindale Foodservice Corp.
North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. hired Mary Jo Baker as a payroll assistant in the human resources department and Harry Crytzer as a marketing associate in the company's marketing department. Crytzer previously worked for Gateway Press and radio stations WORD, WRRK, WLTJ, WXVX and WYDD.
Cranberry Township-based Penn Telecom Inc. hired David Schmidt as a service manager, Robert Shaw as a network engineer, Lisa Mazza as a customer service supervisor, Susan Wiley as a human resources representative and Angela Wagurak as an accounting clerk.
The Allegheny County Bar Association promoted David Blaner acting executive director. He has been the association's deputy executive director since 1998 and before that was assistant executive director. The bar association also hired Jennifer Jones as director of communications and editor of The Lawyers Journal and Leah Perkins as communications coordinator. Jones worked as a plaintiff's personal injury attorney at Woomer & Friday in Pittsburgh. Perkins was a paralegal at Adler Giersch in Seattle and at Woomer & Friday.
The Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children's board of trustees elected Janet Shoup was hired as an inside sales representative and Jean Doutt in the inside sales department at Penn Telecom Inc. in Gibsonia. Shoup worked at the Charles G. Snyder Co., National Realty Group, Hillman Co. and PPG Industries. Doutt worked at North Pittsburgh Telephone and PJax Freight Systems.
James R. Hefner III, president and general manager of WTAE-TV Pittsburgh was elected to the 2001 board of directors of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. He will serve on the television board. He was named vice president and general manager of the Pittsburgh television station in 1987. Prior to that he was news director at KDKA-TV and at a number of stations in North Carolina.
Yanni-Bilkey Investment Consulting hired Kelly A. Moody as one of the firm's performance Measurement Analysts. She comes to the firm from Federated Investors, where she was a senior client data coordinator who performed analysis and research. She also worked as a customer service representative at North Side Bank.
The Armstrong County Community Foundation in Kittanning named Jodi Sysyn Myers as its first executive director. She has worked three years as a nonprofit consultant in the Pittsburgh area for Olszak Management Consulting Inc. Myers is a graduate of Kittanning High School and Penn State University.
