Alpern Rosenthal hires five accountants

Alpern Rosenthal hired in its accounting and audit department in Pittsburgh: C. Joseph Assid as a senior accountant; James K. McCardle as a semi-senior accountant; and Patricia R. Guidici , James P. Hogan and Holly N. Osche as staff accountants. Assid, who has four years' professional experience, holds an accounting degree from Washington & Jefferson College. McCardle, who also has four years' experience, holds an accounting degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Guidici is a Clarion University graduate, and Hogan and Osche are Robert Morris University alumni.

Mufacturing

  • Gorell Windows and Doors of Indiana named Nick Connavino inside sales representative. Connavino, who has more than 20 years' sales, customer service and project management experience, will provide training and sales support to existing window dealers, manage the company's call center and provide sales and marketing support.

    Banking and finance

  • Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania appointed Michael D. Jones as vice president of media relations at the bank's Western Pennsylvania headquarters. Jones comes to Citizens after working as an account supervisor at William J. Green & Associates.

    Accounting

  • Deloitte promoted to senior manager in Pittsburgh: Kenneth Adamek, Ronald Bennett, Michelle Keller, Sanjeev Sethi and Srinivasan Subramanian , all in the consulting department.

    Legal

  • John G. Brosky , retired Superior Court judge and counsel to Grogan Graffam, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Brosky, a retired Air Force general, served in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from the law school in 1949 and was appointed to the Allegheny County Court in 1956.

    Advertising and public relations

  • Ketchum hired Leslie Altemus as an account executive in Pittsburgh. She most recently worked at Kirvin Doak Communications in Las Vegas.

  • Blattner Brunner hired David Kwasnick as creative director. Kwasnick comes to Blattner Brunner from FCB Worldwide in Chicago, where he was a copywriter. Before that, he worked in the creative departments at BBDO and DDB, both in Chicago and at Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis. He also worked three years at Ketchum Advertising in Pittsburgh.

  • Jampole Communications Inc. promoted Timothy Burns to senior art director. Burns, who heads the design department at Jampole, joined the firm in 2002. He holds a bachelor of science degree in graphic design from LaRoche College.

    Health care

  • Jefferson Regional Medical Center selected Thomas P. Timcho as president and chief executive officer. Timcho is a former Army officer who served in Vietnam. He most recently worked in executive capacities at Children's Hospital and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

  • Karen Leone Pritts was named program director of Monongahela Valley Hospital's Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology. Pritts, a registered dietitian, joined the hospital's staff as a clinical dietitian in 1991. Before that, she was a clinical dietitian and nutrition educator at St. Clair Memorial Hospital in Mt. Lebanon.

    Nonprofits

  • Kathleen Osterrieder was hired as an accountant at Providence Connections Inc. Osterrieder most recently worked in the accounting field at several Pittsburgh firms including Tri Rivers Surgical Associates, Bookminders Inc. and Danet Inc. Providence Connections, a ministry of the Sisters of Divine Providence, is the parent organization of Providence Family Support Center on Pittsburgh's North Side.

  • Michael C. Herman , former executive director of the Three Rivers Area Labor Management Committee, was posthumously named 2004 Labor Person of the Year by Yanni Partners, an investment consulting firm in Pittsburgh.

  • Gosia Kolodynski was promoted to marketing and design manager in the office furniture division of Easley & Rivers Inc. of Monroeville.

  • The Allegheny Intermediate Unit hired Jay Moser as the unit's science program director. Before joining the intermediate unit, Moser was vice principal of Valley Middle School at a teacher at H.D. Berkey Elementary, both in the New Kensington/Arnold School District. Moser earned his principal certification from Gannon University and his master of elementary education degree at Duquesne University.
