Alstom opens Charleroi plant, adding 30 jobs

French-owned Alstom Grid has opened a plant in the Speers Industrial Park near Charleroi to manufacture disconnect switches and will create 30 advanced manufacturing jobs, the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance said.

Alstom Grid is making an $8 million investment to manufacture disconnect switches, which are a component of the Alstom's power generation technologies for power plants worldwide.

Alstom, which has its U.S. headquarters in Washington, also has an environmental engineering and manufacturing operation in Wexford.
