I want to sincerely thank you for printing the Declaration of Independence on your "Our View" column on July 4. I believe it is important for all Americans to know our heritage; especially the heart and desire for freedom that our forefathers had. Their reasons and writing of the Declaration are beautiful, clear and strong.

I also hope you will consider publicizing the U.S. and Pennsylvania consitutions, too, and the Bill of Rights. Did you know that the U.S. Bill of Rights day is Dec. 15• And did you know that the U.S. Constitution never would have been passed without the Bill of Rights?

Patrick Henry was the leader of the anti-Federalists. He supported rights for the people. He was afraid that the central government would get too big and have too much power. Hmmmm, sounds like this is happening today. I wish we could have a much smaller central U.S. government.
