Anti-wrinkle case to be tried in Florida

A federal judge has assured Dr. Bach McComb will be tried in Florida on charges he conspired to commit fraud involving anti-wrinkle medication. Federal Judge Barry S. Seltzer transferred McComb’s $200,000 bond from New Jersey to south Florida, moving the location of the trial to south Florida, The Miami Herald reported. Prosecutors said McComb, a 47-year-old osteopath, injected himself, his girlfriend and a Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., couple with a mixture of botulinum toxin instead of the federally approved Botox at a clinic in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., area. McComb, A.J. Hall and Bonnie and Eric Kaplan were paralyzed with cases of botulism and are only now recovering. Last month, McComb, Chad Livdahl and Zarah Karim were indicted for marketing and distributing Botulinum Toxin A without warning labels. McComb faces 51 to 63 months in prison if he is convicted on all charges. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
