It's likely that Sgt. Timothy Jarosz of Murrysville was awake in the wee hours watching the Penguins' 4-3 win over Detroit in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final Monday. Of course, many other Penguins' fans were, too, given the game went into triple overtime. The only difference - and it's a significant one - is that Jarosz was 6,000 miles away in Iraq. The administrative non-commissioned officer for the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command works long hours to keep the accountability of the 28,000 servicemembers under the 316th's control. Still, he makes time to watch the games that are broadcast on the Armed Forces Network with fellow Penguins' fans in Iraq. Even if they start at 3 a.m. in Iraq. "I love the Pens and the Pittsburgh hockey tradition," Jarosz said in a news release. "I'd watch nearly every game back home but don't have the luxury here. The least I could do is watch a few games in the playoffs. Watching the games really makes me feel closer to home." If a servicemember can't watch a game live in the early morning, AFN replays many of its sports broadcasts. Even then, it doesn't guarantee that an ardent fan will be able to catch his or her favorite team - even for the dedicated Jarosz. "Mission always come first," Jarosz said. "I can't disappear for a few hours during the day to watch a replay. I have too many responsibilities." Additional Information:
