An Armstrong County woman has filed a federal lawsuit accusing Gilpin and Leechburg police officers and a gun club of harassing her because she refused to move her mobile home from club property.
Sharon McKnight claims in the lawsuit that she purchased the house trailer in 2003 on the property of Gilpin Rifles Inc. on Fazio Drive in Gilpin and entered into an agreement to do lawn work in lieu of rent for the site. She said the club filed eviction papers four year later.
McKnight claims in the suit that when she fought the eviction, a police officer who is a club member used "fabricated judicial actions" in an attempt to "intimidate" her. She claims her cat was maliciously caught in a trap placed around the trailer.
