Armstrong School District's student-filmed TV show Education Today continues with this lineup of new programs through Feb. 1.
• "Armstrong County Choral Festival" -- A chorus of 145 students from seven Armstrong County high schools filled Kittanning Senior High School's auditorium with music on Nov. 20 at the annual Armstrong County Chorus Festival. This event was filmed by Kittanning Senior High School TV Production students. Comcast/WIUP-TV Channel 20 airtimes are at 6 p.m. through Sunday and Comcast Channel 21 airtimes, 6 p.m. today.
• "Careers In Manufacturing" -- A new educational video called "Go for the Gold" is available for high school students. It explores the education, training, and career possibilities that are typical of manufacturing careers. Guests are David English of the Armstrong Educational Trust and Lori Harvey of the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board. Comcast/WIUP-TV Channel 20 airtimes, 6 p.m. Jan. 19 to 25 and Comcast Channel 21 airtimes, 6 p.m. Jan. 20 and 22.
• "New Armstrong School District Web site" -- The Armstrong School District has a new Web site at www.asd.k12.pa.us. The district feels the content and appearance are improved, and people can register to receive automatic e-mail updates about school closings and periodic district news updates. Guests include Brad Schrecengost, Tony Grenda, and Jonathan Szish of the Armstrong School District. Student hosts are Jake Kanish and Teresa Coleman of the Ford City High School TV Production Class. Comcast/WIUP-TV Channel 20 airtimes, at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 to Feb. 1 and Comcast Channel 21 airtimes, 6 p.m. Jan. 27 and 29.
TV production students from Kittanning Senior High School, led by their teacher Donald Swanson, filmed the Armstrong County Choral Festival and the Careers in Manufacturing episodes. TV Production students from Ford City Junior-Senior High School, led by their teacher Barbara Keller, filmed the New Armstrong School District Web site episode. The host is Jonathan Szish, school and community relations coordinator for the Armstrong School District with guest hosts appearing periodically.
