Army to lend a helping hand

Families who need a helping hand this Christmas may apply for assistance at the Salvation Army's Jeannette Corps. this month.

The barracks will accept applications for assistance with Christmas food and toys from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 16 through Oct. 20. Applications will also be accepted during the evening hours of 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 17 and Oct. 18.

Applicants need to furnish proof of address, social security numbers for every person living in the home and copies of proof of income and expense.

Applicants must reside within Jeannette, Grapeville, Penn, Penn Township, Harrison City or Claridge.
