Baseball/softball

Reporting scores

• Junior baseball and softball managers and statisticians can report their scores to the Kittanning Leader Times at 724-543-1303, ext. 1321 or dstefano@tribweb.com from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Apollo Little League

• Apollo Lions Little League will hold its board meetings at 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at the Kiski Township Municipal Authority Building. The public is welcome.

Basketball

Kittanning open gyms

• Kittanning boys basketball will have open gym at the high school every Tuesday and Thursday until July 16. Fourth-sixth grader gym times will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays. Seventh-12th grader gym times will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays. Contact: Bill Henry at 724-664-0901.

St. Joseph camp

• St. Joseph High School will have a summer camp for girls in third-eighth grade July 27-30. Guest instrutor will be April McDivitt-Foster, a former Indiana Miss Basketball who played in two Final Fours at Tennessee and three years in the WNBA. Discounts offered for teams. Armstrong Indians

• The Armstrong Indians will have registration for football players and cheerleaders who are ages 6-13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 7 and 8 at West Kittanning Football Field. Shannock Valley

Ford City golf outing

• The Ford City football boosters are having a four-man scramble golf outing 8 a.m. July 11 at Lenape Heights Golf Course in Ford City. Cost: $75 for a cart, refreshments and dinner. Contact: Debbie Krocpa at 724-763-7371.

Charity scramble

• A nine-hole, four-person golf scramble is being held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at Birdsfoot Golf Club to benefit the American Cancer Society. There will also be a picnic, 50-50 raffles and a chipping contest. Cost: $35 per person. Contact: Ray at 724-648-5956, or Dan at 724-859-0943.

Heritage Days 5K

Physicals

Kittanning

• Kittanning High School and junior high athletes must have a new physical dated no earlier than May 30, 2009, to participate in athletics when practices begin August 17. Physicals will be offered at the high school July 31. Boys will be at 8 a.m., and girls will be at 9:30 a.m. A physical form (available in the high school office) is required for the exam, and it must be signed by a parent or guardian. Cost: $10, with checks made payable to Dr. Hepner.

Weightlifitng

Bench press meet

• A bench press meet will be Saturday during the Ford City Heritage Days celebration at Ford City Borough Park. There will be two divisions -- adult and high school -- with 10 weight classes each. Cost: $20, includes t-shirt. Contact: Mike Klingensmith at 724-763-1573 or jacobp01@windstream.net.
