Youth sports results

• Youth baseball and softball scores can be reported to the Leader Times sports desk between 7 and 10 p.m. Monday-Friday at 724-543-1303, Ext. 1321.

Little League umpires

• KESS Little League is in need of umpires for this baseball/softball season. Anyone interested should contact Jennifer Johnson at 724-545-7991 or Ben Peters at 724-354-2551.

Basketball

Camps

• The Ford City alumni association will be have the Hube Rupert basketball camp from June 23-28 at Red Mihalik Gym at Ford City High School. The camp is for boys and girls in grades 6-12 who reside in the Armstrong County School District. Additional information and registration forms can be found at www.fordcityalumni.org.

• There will be a summer basketball clinic for Armstrong School District boys and girls in kindergarten-sixth grade from June 9-12 at the Ford City High School gymnasium. Cost: $25 and you may register at the door. Contact: Jim Callipare at 724-763-8066 or Callj@asd.k12.pa.us.

High School sports

Physicals

• Ford City will have physicals for students who plan on playing sports in the 2008-09 school year. Physicals for girls will be 8 to 11 a.m. June 2 and for boys from 8 to 11 a.m. June 3. Cost: $10. Checks should be made to Children's Community Care. Physical forms must be completed before the examination. Forms can be picked up in the principal's office at Ford City High School.

Booster meetings

• The Kittanning hockey boosters club rescheduled its meeting to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Belmont Complex. All parents of freshman, junior varsity and varsity players are welcome. Questions may be directed to Lisa Enders at 724-548-1225.

• The West Shamokin quarterback club has canceled its meeting today. However, there will be a mandatory meeting for all football players' parents at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria.

• The Kittanning football mothers' club will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the high school cafeteria. Anyone with a child who's playing football in grades 7-12 is welcome.

• There will be a Kittanning wrestling meeting at 6:30 p.m. today in the high school cafeteria.

Golf

Scramble

• The Kittanning wrestling boosters will have its fifth annual Wildcats Wrestling Golf Scramble on Saturday at the Birdsfoot Golf Club in Freeport. The cost of the four-man scramble is $70 per person. To register your team or become a sponsor, please contact Jeff Putt at putj@asd.k12.pa.us.

Running

Freeport Flash 5K Run/Walk

• Registration has begun for the third annual Freeport Flash Run/Walk, which will be 9 a.m May 31. Registration forms are available at www.freeportcrosscountry.com or by sending an e-mail to n3wav@aol.com. Race day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Buffalo Township firehall in Sarver. The course is fast and flat, and it runs along the beautiful Butler-Freeport rails to trails. People who register before Saturday receive a free T-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Freeport High School cross country team.
