Christmas baseball clinic
• The Satchel Paige All-Stars traveling baseball team is accepting registration for players ages 13-18 who would like to participate in the team's Christmas baseball clinic and tournament in Bradenton, Fla., and/or be part of the 2009 summer travel team. The Christmas clinic and tournament will be held from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2 in Bradenton, the spring training home of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Contact: Coach Michael E. Duquesne clinic• The Duquesne University Baseball Clinic will be Oct. 18 at Duquesne Field. During the clinic, players ages 15-18 will receive instructions and evaluations from coaches around the tri-state area. The pitchers and catchers session will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the position players session will last from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost: Pitchers $75; position players $100; multiple positions is $165. BasketballElementary girls league
• The Lenape Girls Elementary Basketball League is holding signups from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25 at the Ford City High School gymnasium. The league is for girls in grades 4-6. FootballFord City boosters
• The Ford City Football Boosters will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria at Ford City High School. All parents of players are urged to attend. The Senior Night and banquet committees will have a meeting immediately after. Nominations for officers for the 2009 season will also be addressed at the meeting.
Ford City Mother's Club• The Kittanning Football Mothers' Club will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Kittanning High School cafeteria.
High schoolsFord City powder-puff football
• Ford City High School will hold its Powder-puff football game, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday. The game will feature juniors vs. the seniors at the high school stadium. Admission is $3.
