According to Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s office, Evan Joshua Piterski, 25, of Carrick, has been arrested for trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a law enforcement agent whom he believed to be a 15-year-old girl.

A Carrick man is in jail because he arranged a meeting with an attorney general's agent posing as a 15-year-old girl, authorities say.

Evan Joshua Piterski, 27, is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and attempted indecent assault, according to court records.

According to the criminal complaint, an agent with the Attorney General's Child Predator section found an online advertisement Piterski posted soliciting sex with a woman. The agent posed as a 15-year-old girl and responded to the ad, according to a statement from Attorney General Kathleen Kane.

The agent allegedly exchanged numerous sexual messages with Piterski, according to the release.

Piterski was arrested Monday after arriving in McKeesport, where he had arranged to meet her.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 19. Piterski is being held in the Allegheny County Jail, unable to post $50,000 bail.
