A 19-year-old Pittsburgh man accused of setting two fires in Harrison last month has waived attempted homicide, arson and other charges to court.
Police said Sean Glenn Hallam, of Woodbourne Avenue, admitted throwing a firebomb at an occupied apartment house at 66 Vine St., Natrona, about 1 a.m. April 9.
Hallam also allegedly admitted setting fire to an occupied house at 29 Natrona St., Natrona, at about 4 a.m. the next day.
Eight people were asleep inside the two houses, but they all got out safely.
A deputy Allegheny County fire marshal ruled the fires were arson.
On Wednesday, Hallam's attorney, Gary Gerson, told District Judge Carolyn Bengel that Hallam is waiving all charges to court.
Hallam had been held in the county jail in lieu of $100,000 bond while awaiting yesterday's hearing in front of Bengel.
That changed on Tuesday when county Judge Jeffrey Manning ordered Hallam held on no bond and ordered a psychiatric evaluation.According to Hallam's arrest report, one of the Natrona victims said she met Hallam in a bar and they dated, but she cut it off because of his “heavy steroid usage.”
Police said witnesses saw a black Cadillac at the time of the fires. Hallam was in the car when he was pulled over April 19.
Police allegedly saw gloves with a gasoline odor, a mask and other suspicious things in the car, so they impounded the car at Gillette's Towing.
Police said Hallam was found lurking near the garage that night and was charged with loitering and prowling.
On April 20, he allegedly made a “full confession” about setting the two fires.
