TV host and author Rita Cosby will appear in Oakland on Wednesday to discuss her book "Quiet Hero: Secrets from My Father's Past."

The book is a tribute to her father, who was a young resistance fighter against the Nazis and later a German prisoner of war.

The lecture will be at 1 p.m. in Room 4130 of Posvar Hall at the University of Pittsburgh.

The event is co-sponsored by the Polish Falcons of America and the University of Pittsburgh. A reception will be held at the conclusion of the event.
